I am very interested in the historic home at the intersection of Salvio street and east. I believe it is the old Goodal-McKenzie home. Does the city own the home or do you know who does. It is very neglected and needs serious attention. Please have glass or some protection put over the windows to keeep the weather and animals from entering. It is very sad that a historic home with so much to offer has been left to rot. It would make a fabulous educational tool for the children of Contra Costa. Please call me or email. Teresa Nelson

Hello,
I’m wondering if you have a staff member/volunteer
who could perform a fairly simple research task for an
out-of-county/state resident? I live in Arizona. The CCC libraries will no longer do this for non-residents.
I’d be happy to send $20 for someone’s time & gas.
The Pleasant Hill Library has back issues of the
Contra Costa Times–perhaps including 1973. I’m searching
for an engagement/wedding announcement that may have appeared
in July or August of that year. It’s for a couple who were
married in Concord or W.C. on August 5th. The bride was
Susan Hardin; the groom was Daniel Borges.
All help will be greatly appreciated! It’s OK to print
my e-mail:
Still need this? Oakland Tribune Saturday, Oct. 13, 1973
They married at St. Mary’s College Chapel in Moraga.
