Help Preserve Our History

Please note: If you wish to offer assistance as a docent at the Galindo Home, contact the volunteer coordinator.

Exciting events happen, but if succeeding generations are to know about them, the information has to be saved, and that doesn’t just happen. Preserving the records of people and how they lived, saving history, is part of what the Concord Historical Society (CHS) does.

If you would like to learn more about the history of our area and get involved in preserving it, CHS could use your help caring for the many artifacts and reference materials donated to the Society’s Resource Center.

In addition to helping those who visit the Resource Center during the open hours, answering the phone, and following up on the questions that callers ask, volunteers have an opportunity and responsibility for logging in new donations, and preparing materials for use or storage. This, of course, involves a lot of detail work, and includes lots of filing, copying, typing, and data entry — all necessary for keeping track of our growing collection.

If you have a few hours to spare and are willing to help with the “office work”, please contact our Volunteers Coordinator at the Resource Center on Tuesdays between 1-4. Training for new volunteers is Tuesdays 1:00 to 4:00. Once trained, volunteers may schedule other days and times to assist at the Center.
